The Movement

The native plant sharing network is a movement of plants and people. It is not a political movement or a social movement. It is literally gathering together as neighbors and community members to assist in the movement/dispersal of native plants. This is a plant-led movement. If we “follow the plants” by carefully observing their ways, they will show us what to do.
When provided the space, most native plants reproduce prolifically to ensure their survival. Our role:
- Clear invasive and other non-native plants to make space for natives
- Forage/gather any surplus plants and seeds made available to us, then
- Assist in their movement to new locations in our neighborhoods/communities.
The movement is free and self sustaining. It is fueled by reciprocity and gratitude for the plants and people in the native plant sharing network.
