The Movement
"Giving begets giving and the gift stays in motion"- Robin Wall Kimmerer
The native plant sharing network is a movement. It’s an organic gathering of people into neighborhood level cells that cooperatively assist in the foraging and dispersal of native plants. Each cell is unique to the neighborhood from which it emerges; each is inter-connected with other neighborhood level cells to form a larger, community-wide cellular matrix of people and plants.
Network Goals:
- Remove lawns and other undesireable plants to make space for native plants
- Forage surplus native plants and seeds from mother yards in our neighborhoods
- Disperse the surplus native plants and seeds into daughter yards and open community spaces in our neighborhoods
The movement is free and self sustaining. It is fueled by reciprocity and gratitude.
